...a couple days ago...10 grand to be exact. He said he can beat ANY import. Well a friend with a singled Supra took him up on the offer. The Supra guy (doesn't want his name revealed) was kind of sketchy about the whole thing so they agreed on just a grand. They checked out eachother's cars today to make sure there was nothing fishy. The Supra looks bone stock other than the huge Veilside exhaust, front mount intercooler and some gauges on the inside. When the Supra's hood was open, the Viper guy totally missed or overlooked the huge, polished turbo sitting right on top of the engine (he was an idiot and probably doesn't even know what a turbo looks like). I thought for sure the Viper was gonna punk out after he saw the turbo but he didn't. One of his co-workers held the money and we hit the road. We found a very quiet, long, high speed road in a rural part of Ohio not too far from the burbs. A friend and I cruised way ahead to make sure the coast was clear and stayed way in the slow lane. Since it was for a grand, they agreed on best of three, no miss shifts, no excuses. Race one was a slow first gear roll and the Viper jumped ahead by about a car length and the Supra just WALKED him like he was standing still. Race two, they had to redo it because the Supra jumped the 3rd honk. Race three, the Viper tried to use the clutch and get a jump but smoked his tires. The Supra was obviously confident by now and didn't want any excuses so he said he'd redo that one since the Viper got a bad launch. Race three......the Supra bitchslapped him even harder than the first time. Probably by about 4 car lengths. The Viper guy says he missed a shift which is BS but the Supra guy smartly says he already gave him enough chances. The Supra guy collected his money and the Viper guy seemed cool about it but I can tell he was PISSED inside. The Viper guy wants another shot for his money back next week but you know he's gonna mod the sh*t out of his car all week. Supra guy said no. Sorry guys, I have no video because the Supra guy is a very paraniod person and didn't want his car being videotaped doing this. He tells me later that he was stupid for not accepting 10 grand but he didn't know what he was getting into. Just felt so good to see this anti-import get his ass handed to him...I just wish it from a fellow Z'er. I don't hate on Supras though, I'm saving up for one sometime next year...I'm keeping the Z too of course since it's paid and looks better ;-)
